Engine exhaust Toxicology

CERTAM, in partnership with INSERM, is historically the first european research centre which gave the possibility to study toxicity from freshly emitted engine exhaust.

Issued from a more-than-10 years collaboration, the developped models allow to differentiate engine technologies, different fuels as well as today or future post-treatments strategies.

Toxicology global approach allows to study the toxicity of a whole exhaust and to quickly evaluate negative or positive trends of fuel additives, post-treatments systems, new fuels ....

Thanks to the alliance of engine knowledge, aerosol sizing, pollutants measurement, sanitary risk evaluation, CERTAM may offer quickly a toxicological profile of any engine improvements

Synthetic Atmospheres and Aerosol resuspension.

Thanks to CERTAM experience in term of flow regulation and aerosol resuspension, toxicological studies can be conducted on whatever particle or dust material presenting a potential biological safety hazard.

CERTAM developped spray-drying and mechanical dus resuspension techniques which allow to set up inhalation lung toxicological studies from the tested product.
